Besides books about the history of the old Dutch merchant navy (period 1870-1970) I collect tablesilver, glass and pottery of the leading shipping companies who were active in this period. In particular Van Nievelt, Goudriaan & Co's Stoomvaart Maatschappij N.V., Rotterdam (1905-1991). This fine company that I served for a couple of years became famous for her regular service: "Rotterdam South-America Line". The company's slogan at that time: "The star you can rely on!"
